مؤتمر المانهايم العلوي يعلن تشكيل لجنة متابعة دائمة
A comprehensive Alawite conference was held on April 12, 2025, in the city of Mannheim, Germany
with the participation of a number of prominent Alawite figures and active organizations.
The conference resulted in the following statement:
A distinguished group of over 120 academics and activists from areas recently affected by massacres participated in the Mannheim Conference, along with a number of Alawite associations, organizations, and unions from across Europe and the United States. The participants convened to coordinate effective strategies to confront the massacres in the Syrian coast, Homs, and Hama, as well as the economic strangulation and systemic marginalization faced by people in specific regions of Syria due to their sectarian identity. The following is the final statement issued by the conference:
We, the participants in the First Mannheim Conference, which concluded its consultations successfully on Saturday, April 12, 2025, address our people in the coastal region, Homs, and Hama in particular — and the Syrian people as a whole — with a clear and sincere message. We pledge to spare no effort in the diaspora — whether in organizing and networking, or in investigation and documentation, or in political and media work — to uphold rights, lift injustices, stop the massacres, and hold perpetrators accountable.
To this end, we announce the formation of a Follow-Up Committee that will remain in continuous session. The attendees have agreed to designate the conference’s organizing committee as the interim Follow-Up Committee. This committee will represent the conference externally, in communication with other groups and initiatives, as well as with organizations and entities concerned with Syrian affairs. The committee, whose internal structure will be determined later, will also address all proposals presented for the protection of the people of Syria.
We stress here that the identity-based killer is the one violating the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of our country — not the bloodied victim.
In this spirit, we call upon the international community and relevant organizations to take positions consistent with international law and human rights charters, to condemn the crime, and to stand with the victims not just in words but in action — by taking all necessary measures, whether related to investigation, monitoring, or providing emergency relief, aid, and rehabilitation to the affected areas.
Finally, we emphasize the importance of allowing media access to the crime scenes and reaffirm the need to uphold ethical values, humanitarian principles, and noble religious teachings that forbid the taking of life, and any violation of freedom, dignity, safety, honor, or property.
Long live you all, Long live Syria. Mannheim – April 12, 2025
