عيد القوزلي احتفالات رأس السنة بالتقويم الشرقي في الساحل السوري

أغنية لعيد القوزلي، وهو عيد رأس السنة حسب التقويم الشرقي، وهو أحد أعياد العلويين.

A chant for traditional Qouzalli festival celebrated in Syrian coast especially by Alawites, lighting bonfires & preparing food to mark the New Year per old Eastern calendar:

For Qouzalli, O Hanna, [Christian male name] You’re invited tonight to our place.

Come visit us this evening, The fire will tell you about us. Tonight’s dish is made of wheat, [Harisa] With big chunks [of meat] on top.

Don’t be late, my brother, Welcome, welcome to the visitors.

We have Christmas pastries, Covered with extra oil. We offer them to our loved ones,

They carry the scent of my ancestors.

Qouzalli, the fire has been lit, And the neighbor calls to his neighbor.

May it [Qouzalli] return to you again, And may this home prosper & flourish.
